Yes, Virginia I'm still here...

Hello to those of you who haven't given up on me. I'm still here but haven't felt the stamping love in a quite a while. Frankly most of this year has been a crap sandwich and most of what I have to say isn't very nice. So, since you don't visit my blog to hear my tales of woe I will share a card I made a while ago. I think she's cute and very Campbell's Soup looking. This style of images always remind me of my Mom who I miss terribly.

I hope you are all taking time to enjoy the Holidays, HUG your kids and remember what's important. Here's hoping 2013 brings great things!! Merry Christmas blogging friends. Thanks for hanging in there with me and Yes, There is a Santa Claus.

Is it really fall ?

Mother Nature. Are you there? Hello! It's October 1st and it's gonna be 104 today! Just sayin'.
I figured if I made a fall card she'd hear me or I'd at least feel a little cooler. So far it hasn't worked. We even put up all the Halloween decorations and still nothing...I hope wherever you are you are feeling the early signs of fall and making some time to be creative.

Faa Laa Laa Laa Laa

So I was without a computer for several days. You just don't realize how much you depend on certain things until you don't have them any more.  I was still able to check my email on my phone and surf the net for than matter, but it's just not the same. Luckily I know a guy ;) (hi honey) and am happy to report I'm back in business! I'm slowly but surely getting a few Christmas cards made. I have 4 so far. LOL! It's kinda hard to get into that Christmas spirit when it's still 100 degrees outside. Hopefully fall will make an appearance soon. I can't wait!! Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Mojo Monday Sketch 259

Just A Note

When I saw this musical note stamp at Michaels I knew just what to do with it. I think it took me longer to find my "just a note" stamp than it did to make the card. I couldn't remember what set it was in so I had to go through all of them. As usual the card is nicer in person because I still can't seem to master the art of photography. Anyway, you get the idea. Thanks for looking and have a fantastic weekend!

OWH Stars and Stamps Sketch Challenge 134

Since I wont be able to do OWH midweek throw down this week I decided to do the sketch challenge. I really like this sketch and the ideas are flowing. It's the first day of school so I have plenty of time to stamp today. Yeah me!! Thanks for looking and happy first day of school.

Midweek throw down

It's time for OWH midweek throw down again. This weeks challenge is to use kraft cardstock and a one or two other colors. I went with something simple this time around. I thought about xacto-ing out the windows so the yellow would show through but they are just too tiny and I'm still lacking dexterity from my injury so I didn't even try. Thanks for looking!

Hey Cupcake!

I saw this idea on someones blog and thought it was such a great use of foil. They used kitchen foil but I wanted something stronger so I used foil tape from my husbands garage. I think it's for the dryer hose but it worked great for my cupcake paper. I just adhered it to some card stock, trimmed and ran it through my paper crimper. Cute right? Thanks for looking today!

GO Team USA! CONGRATULATIONS!!!

A little shout out to our local girl Megan Rapino and the U.S. soccer team! It's pretty cool living in the same town as Megan and having our son attend the same schools she did. It makes meeting her and having that autographed soccer ball even more special!  Good luck and Go for the GOLD!! We're cheering for you!

Well done team U S A!! You guys rock!!!

Midweek Throw Down

It's midweek throw down over at the Stars and Stamps blog for OWH. This weeks challenge is to make cards of encouragement. This is my little contribution and will be added to the pile of cards I have to send to them. I hope you all take a minute to hop on over and check out Operation Write Home. Thanks for looking and have an owl-tastic day!

Another Mojo

Seems as though I can't put a card together lately without a sketch. No matter! That's what Mojo Monday sketches are for. I love that they have all their sketches easily available from the last few years so, there's lots to chose from. Thanks for looking today and stay cool!

Mr. & Mrs

One of the girls at work is getting married in August and I decided to make her a little something special. I've made so many of these in the past but never one for a wedding. It's a Mag Time Frames kit and they're fun and easy peasy. They supply you with the "hardware" and easel and you do the rest. The white is glued to a sheet of metal and there are little magnets behind the flowers so you can put photos or whatever you like on it. I have one I made for my son's Christmas photo with Santa which changed every year. I added an element from her invitation on the front and glued the invitation on the back. Her shoes are a beautiful shade of blue so I went blue ribbon and flowers. I wish I could have used patterned cardstock on the background because it's a little sturdier but I couldn't find what I wanted, so I just went with it. Also, using cardstock on the magnetic sheet is probably not a good idea unless you get stronger magnets which I will have to do for this. And if I had been thinking I should have probably changed the orientation of the frame. Most wedding photos are not landscaped, but it's too late now. LOL! Thanks for looking today!

Boys vs Girls

I set out to make some masculine Birthday cards today and finally ended up with some to post. The card at the bottom was the first one I did and when I finished I didn't think it was boyish at all! I don't know why I feel compelled to put flowers on just about everything I make, but I do. Must be the girl in me. ;-) Anyway, after I did that one I decided to masculine it up and the top card is what I ended up with. It worked out well since I have a niece who has a Birthday in September so I'll just tuck it away until then.

I hope you all are having a nice start to summer and thanks for looking!

Thanks

Hello echo echo echo...
I've update my blog so little for so long that every time I log in Blogger looks different. I've been stamping quite a bit just not updating. I did manage to get about 40 card off to OWH and that felt great!
Still not coloring too much but am really liking what I've been able to come up with just by using bold images, saying stamps and nesties. I don't know how I ever lived without nesties! Genius invention! Wish I'd thought of it. :-) Thanks for hanging in there with me and my sporadic postings and hope you continue to stalk! Have a terrific day.

Bright and Cherry

I still can't color. Comfortably anyway, so I've been doing a lot of saying cards and making lots of little flowers out of tissue and crepe paper. You could say it's my new obsession. Crepe paper is so much more stable and forgiving than tissue, but it's a little harder to come by in my area as we have no party supply store. I do love orange these days too. Hopefully in another couple of months I'll be able to use my copics again. Can't wait! Thanks for looking today.

Many Thanks

Not much to say today. Just thought it was about time I post a new card. Hope you enjoy!

Put one foot infront of the other

Where have I been for the last few months. Those who know me already know what a horrible few months its been for me and my family. After suddenly losing my Mom on January 27th I just wasn't sure how I was going to go forward. Then on February 26th I nearly lost my thumb in the dogs collar. I grabbed, he turned, my thumb tore. My fault. So here we are in April and I'm still dealing with aftermath. Lots of stitches inside and out, physical therapy and an MRI this Friday. Hopefully in a few more weeks I'll be able to go back to work (no pay check stinks!) and more importantly, stamp. I need some "normal" in my life. The good news is I have some great friends who have been so supportive and a husband who is a saint. Maybe I'll do a much deserved tribute to my Mom for a Mother's Day post. It's already turning into a kleenex moment and I care not to go there today. The good news is I can use my Cuttlebug now. It's amazing what two fingers can do given no other choice. And believe it or not I made those little tissue paper flowers on this card. It took several hours but, I did it. So today and tomorrow and the next I'll put one foot in front of the other until life feels normal again. Thanks for looking today.

Baby Cards

I got the idea to make this card from Stacy's blog.
I love all of her designs and I cased this almost exactly. The theme and colors are different as is the orientation of the card. I love the way it turned out and I don't even know anybody having a baby! LOL!
I'll just add it to my stash. I'm sure it will come in handy one of these days.

Thanks for looking, and thank you Stacy for the inspiration!

Blog Update

Been trying to update my blog background off and on for a couple of weeks now. I even went so far as to remove that feature and it still shows snowflakes. I'm hoping the problem will correct itself one of these days. Haven't had too much time to stamp lately, but I managed to get a couple cards done today. One is a layout right out of the Stampin' Up catty and the other is from my own imagination. I love the new papers out for spring. Such great colors and patterns.

Thanks for looking today and have a great week.

PS Go Giants!!

Valentines Day

It's about time I updated my blog, so I thought a Valentines Day cards would be a good place to start. Just gettin' my mojo flowin' so we'll see what emerges from the craft room today. 2012 has started out with a bang. A cut in pay and a leak in the pool. Other than that everything is hunky freakin' dory! I hope you are all having a great start to your year and thanks for looking!
