Just for fun

It's almost fall (YIPPEEE!!!) so I decided it was time to get out the google eyes. (you know, for all the Halloween cards we LOVE to make) They added so much to the birdy card. I'm trying really hard to get away from my usual. Image, nesty, b/g paper card. That's usually what works for me, but I'm really trying to think outside my image, nesty, b/g paper box. I flipped through a bunch of magazines I had when my in-laws were here and loosely copied a couple of layouts to get me going. I don't usually like to "copy" other stampers art, but sometimes you just need a little creative diversity!

Thanks for looking today. Your comments are SO appreciated!

Coffee Card

Hi Ladies!

If you read my blog with any regularity, you already know I LOVE coffee. I can't seem to stamp unless I have a cup of coffee near by. So, it stands to reason, if I LOVE coffee then I must LOVE coffee stamps! I got this great set of clear stamps from Michael's with one of my coupons. Have you seen all new new clear stamps they are carrying now? OH MY. I could easily lose my mind.

I made this card for my boss who has to quit caffeine. Poor thing!! Can you imagine?? I guess it's not that bad and I did get her a little tin of decaf coffee to go with the card. You know, just a little something to get her started and take the edge off!

TDSC015

Don't you just love challenge day over at The Digi Shack? This weeks challenge is to use 3 different background papers on your project. That's it! Easy Peasy. As an added bonus, this little alien was Manic Monday's Freebie Fun Day Image. I am masculine-card challenged, and when I saw this little guy I knew he'd be perfect for a guy card. (I was going for alien "fingers" with the green behind the sentiment.)

We'd love to see what you can do with this weeks challenge, so go check out the digi shack blog and show us your art!

Baby Cards

Here are a couple of cards I made last week with some adorable TAC sets. I really have no reason to make baby cards, but had to use some of the super cute K & Co paper I have. My bursitis is acting up again, so stamping and everything else is slow going. UGH! And of course I'm right handed and guess which shoulder is bothering me? Hopefully all the drugs I'm on will help and I can be a stamping machine again soon!

Thanks for looking and check back tomorrow for the latest Digi Shack challenge card.

TDSC014

This weeks Digi Shack challenge is to use clouds on your project. Yeah, I know, my card is a stretch. But look at it this way, black clouds aren't always bad, and not all clouds are horizontal. And I really love this butterfly image and wanted to use my new ribbon. So there you have it!

Click on over to The Digi Shack and show us what you can do with clouds!

Butterfly Kisses

When I set out to make this card today I had the upcoming Thursday Digi Shack challenge in my head. I worked pretty hard on this card and was so happy with the results. After I photographed it (8 times and still didn't get a decent picture) I realized it had nothing to do with the challenge! I don't know how I could have set out to make a card specifically for this Thursday's challenge and end up with a card that has nothing whatsoever to do with the challenge! But I guess that's really what a hobby is all about. It's something that makes you happy and takes you away for a little while. In my case it took me far away from the challenge, but I'm super happy with what I ended up with! I hope your hobby makes you as happy as mine makes me. :)

Christmas in July

Seems like that's what everybody is talking about this month. I know it's WAY TO EARLY for Christmas, but it's never to early to start your cards. Especially if you have a lot to make. I made 4 of these tonight, but I haven't decided if this is the card if you know what I mean. I never make all of my Christmas cards the same, but threaten to every year. Maybe if I make a few at a time I'll have enough by December...

I hope you all have a fantastic weekend and thanks for looking!

Congratulations!

Last week my little sister graduated from cosmetology school. WOO HOO! She still has to take the state board to get her license, but I have every confidence she will pass with flying colors! In honor of this momentous occasion I made this frame for her to put her license in as a graduation gift.

If you have a chance hop on over and wish her congratulations, good luck on her up coming exam, and check out her blog while your there!
