No cards to share today, but something even more exciting.
I had the pleasure of watching the Blue Angels practice last week in preparation for the air show this past weekend. While we were unable to attend because I had to work all weekend (and it was WAY too hot to be at the airport all day) we were still able to enjoy parts of the show. Here's the COOLEST thing about this photo. My husband took this picture with his nothing fancy digital camera from our backyard yesterday! I wasn't home to see it, but my boys were so excited to tell me just how close this jet was to our house and that the vapor trail filled the backyard and 2 seconds later they could feel the wave from the sheer power these machines possess! I'm really bummed I missed it. There were times during their practice sessions they were so close I could see the pilot. It gives me goosebumps just thinking about it.
Anyway, I just thought this was super duper cool and I wanted to share it with you guys! Hopefully I'll have some cards to share later this week. Thanks for looking and have a fabulous day!

Bosses Day
The girls at work asked me if I would make a card for our boss for bosses day which is sometime in October. This is the card I came up with. I made it square so there would be more room for all of us to write a little something on the inside. I hardly ever make square cards for a couple of reasons. It's difficult to find square envelopes and postage costs more. Which brings me to a little gripe about the USPS. Yesterday I had to mail a package and since the "letter carrier" had already come and gone I decided to mail a thank you card I had made along with the package. The card already had a stamp on it and when the postal worker picked it up she said, "oh, it's a little lumpy." That will be a 20 cent SURCHARGE. To which I said, "what???" It already has a stamp on it why the surcharge? She replied, "it's a little lumpy." (insert evil postal worker stare here) It was a card I made with NO embellishments, one layer of bg paper and ONE sentiment with ONE 1/16th inch piece of foam tape. GRRRR! What I wanted to say was, "You're a little lumpy! And don't you know card makers help to keep you employed?" We NEVER send e-cards and we are already paying 44 cents to mail each "standard size" card and an extra 58 cents to mail a square card. I mail tons of cards this way from my house and nobody has ever called me to say thanks for the card and oh by the way, I had to pay a 20 cent surcharge to get the card. If I make a truly bulky card, I put extra postage on it, but this what a bit ridiculous.
Ok, I feel better now. Thanks for listening.
Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day!

Quilled Snowflakes
Happy Mojo Monday!
It's all about the snowflakes for me this year. I think most of my cards this year have some form of snowflake on them. I thought I was going to quill all of my Christmas cards this year. BAAHAAHAAHAA!! After spending a couple of hours quilling a few snowflakes I decided it just wasn't reasonable. I've quilled before and forgot how time consuming it can be. Especially if you don't have a quilling board. It's a MUST HAVE if you are going to quill. One of these days I'll order one since I can't get one locally. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this Mojo Monday sketch!

Non-traditional colors
Happy Friday everyone!
The inspiration for this card came from a spool of ribbon. I like non-traditional colors for Christmas cards sometimes and I like how this turned out. It didn't look finished to me, so I added the little silver balls at the top of the trees. It worked out great since it ties into the silver on the ribbon.
Have a fabulous weekend my blogging friends!

Winter Wonderland
How cool is this card? I spend a fair amount of time on Elzybells blog and her guest designer this time was Sue Nelson. I have been following Sue's work for years. She is SO talented. Anyway, I saw one of her cards with this layout and loved it, so I cased it. It's such a simple design, but really packs a punch.

The Mummy
Yeah, I'm still working on those Christmas cards, but decided I needed a little change of pace. I thought I'd participate in Barb's Haunted Design House Macabre Monday challenge. This weeks theme is to pick a horror flick and design a card around that movie. I chose "The Mummy". Yeah, it's cute, but appropriate. I also happen to really like this Mojo Monday sketch from a couple of weeks ago, so decided to use it again.
Happy Haunting everyone!

Christmas or not?
I love how this card turned out, however, it's supposed to be a Christmas card. Does it look like a Christmas card? Maybe I should change the colors? Maybe it's missing something?
What do you guys think? I could really use your opinion on this one. I hope you are all having a great Labor Day weekend!
Thanks!

Everyday Mice
Isn't this little Christmas mouse cute? She's part of a set from The Angel Company called Everyday Mice. I didn't think I needed this set until a good friend stamped me a few images to play with from her set. After that, I decided I too needed my own set. Go figure!
Thanks for looking and have a squeaky good weekend!

Hello!
Today is challenge day over at The Digi Shack!
What can you do with 1 piece of ribbon, 2 pieces of dp, and 3 brads?
I combined this recipe with a Mojo Monday sketch from a couple of weeks ago and here's what I came up with. Now let's see what you can do!

Do you take Ream in your coffee?
Ok, so when I set out to make this card my plan was to have the words cream and sugar showing on the b/g paper. It wasn't until I finished the card and photographed it, I realized I cut off the C from cream and the R from sugar! HAHAHAHA! DUH! I thought it was so clever too since it matched the sentiment. Anyway, it made me laugh so I thought I'd share it with all of you!
